WOW Announces Director of Public Policy and Affairs

FOLSOM, CA---July 26, 2006. ---David Leip, CTO ibm.com has been appointed Director of Public Policy and Affairs for the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW), a non-profit professional association for Web professionals worldwide.

Leip will be responsible for coordinating and representing the organization's policy positions with the public, including executive and legislative, the trade press and news media, education organizations and WOW’s membership base. He begins his official part-time duties at WOW on July 21, 2006.

Leip’s responsibilities at ibm.com include focusing on driving new innovation into IBM's own web presence as well as driving agile methods for the organization. Previously, he managed IBM's corporate webmaster organization for several years where he had responsibility for many of IBM's web standards.

In making the announcement Bill Cullifer, WOW Executive Director said, "I am excited to have someone of David Leip's caliber serving as Director of Public Policy and Affairs.
