National 2008 Web Design Contest
Welcome to the SkillsUSA Web Design Committee’s web site. This site is to help you deliver the National Web Design Contest. There are three parts to the contest:
- A written exam to assess the individual team member’s knowledge of web site design, development and administration.
- The practicum whereby student teams design and develop a website based on the purpose, description and requirements of a hypothetical or existing organization or company. An overview of the requirements for the website will be shared at the orientation meeting prior to the contest. The document outlining the website to be developed by the teams will be distributed by the Technical committee the day of the contest.
- A professionalism portion that assesses each contestant’s “soft skills” and the types of skills desired by employers.
The World Organization of Webmasters (WOW), in cooperation with SkillsUSA, hopes to challenge each of the web design competition contestants in a way that will ultimately prepare them for the rigors of a competitive work environment of Web professionals.
